Sylvia Ojei is the Creative Lead at The Bamboo Theatre, a contemporary African production company that focuses on telling rich stories out of Africa and beyond.
Sylvia Ojei holds a master’s degree in Theatre and Global Development from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, where she focused her expertise on community theatre and the impact of theatre in the lives of the aged and people living in isolation and stereotype.

While in the UK, she has worked part time with a number of UK theatre organizations from Mind The Gap, which works alongside artists with learning disabilities to create exciting, surprising and challenging experiences for regional, national and international audiences, to charity organizations such as ‘Older People’s Action in the Locality’ (OPAL), which supports older people to live happy, healthy, informed lives in their own homes.
Currently, Sylvia is focused on culture sustainability, mindset re-orientation and development within her community and beyond, using theatre as a tool.
She is a pet lover and enjoys playing table tennis, basketball, reading, drawing and home making. Sylvia is happily married with a child.
