Theatre Overview
/01

The Bamboo Theatre is a contemporary African production company that focuses on telling rich stories out of Africa and beyond. Our focus is on highlighting myths, cultures and traditions through storytelling and theatrical spectacles for audiences all over the world. We take pride in the quality of our productions as well as in our ability to promote and preserve cultures through different engaging art forms including dramas, cultural festivals, film productions, visual arts and storytelling.

We are bringing generations together with our work. Doing this is our commitment. We also view engagements between the elderly and young as a key medium for tackling the issues of isolation, associated with being elderly. This is why our purpose is focused on “encouraging learning and inclusiveness between generations”. Our objective is to draw Africans and the world together, and create conversations between varying cultural topics and values.
Theatre Production
/02

We produce thought-provoking theatre productions, cultural and dance festivals, documentaries, art exhibitions, feature and short films targeted towards developing and promoting African aesthetics. Through various productions, we aspire to include and bring generations together to enact real life stories that ultimately develop African communities.
Finding Grey
/03

Finding Grey is Nigeria’s foremost social media community dedicated to the elderly.
Inspired by the urgent need to replicate the art of storytelling as voiced by grandparents and parents to their children and the younger generations, which in recent times is gradually fading away. Finding Grey encourages senior citizens to share their stories (past and present) so as to educate and inform the general public about experiences and the emotions that run through their minds.
Workshop Theatre
/04
The Workshop Theatre focuses on providing auxiliary support to educational institutions and passionate citizens in a practical learning environment using theatre as a tool. We bring people from different backgrounds, age grades, tribes, and cultures together to learn, grow, engage, network and share knowledge.

Our goal is to impact and sustain cultures. That is why our focus is on encouraging learning and inclusiveness between generations. We are able to achieve this by offering participants membership into our exclusive workshop theatre. We provide them with the skills to solely facilitate a community-based theatre workshop.
